F.B.I. Membership Reaches 5,500


The 5,500th member of the F.B.I. joined the federation last month in Iquitos,Peru. Marc Plumet an electrical engineer from Mons, in Belgium bought the lucky numbered T shirt on 22nd June 2008 making him member number 5,500. The F.B.I. or Federacion de Borrachos de Iquitos ( Federation of Drunks of Iquitos) donates part of the money gained by sales of F.B.I. t shirts to charity. The federation was founded in August 1998 by Alfonso Bayro, Phil Duffy (the then British Consul) and Mike Collis. Since then the F.B.I. has helped over 6,000 unfortunate children. Each shirt sells for 25 peruvian soles (about $8.50) and 5 soles goes to help the needy children of Iquitos.Last Christmas founder member Mike Collis raised enough money to provide panatones ( mini Christmas cakes), toys and candies for over 800 poor children in various parts of the city.


December 2002

The F.B.I. captures 40 street kids and takes them to the circus. The helper in the F.B.I. t shirt is member Melvin Lawrence from Birmingham, England. Sadly Melvin passed away last December after a long illness. God Bless You Melvin.



Christmas 2003

Christmas party for Iquitos street kids.
Current F.B.I. members include some local politicians, 4 american congressmen, 3 british M.P.s and the Baroness of Windsor who might deny her affiliation with the federation.
Christmas 2007

The F.B.I. raised enough money throughout the year to bring a little Christmas joy to 834 children in the poorer suburbs Iquitos, Peru.
